This website provides up to date information on the electronic Portal put in place to support the Pre-Action Protocol for Low Value Personal Injury Claims in Road Traffic Accidents. A full copy of the protocol can be found on the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) website.

Updated Draft RTA and EL/PL protocols

Please click on the links below for the updated drafts of the pre-action protocols for the extended RTA claims process and the new employers'/public liability (EL/PL) process. The Civil Procedure Rule Committee are looking to finalise these on 8 March.

Extension Update
In 2013 the current MOJ Protocol for Low Value Personal Injury Claims in Road Traffic Accidents up to £10,000 will be extended to Employers' Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL) and motor claims with a value up to £25,000. To facilitate the extension of the MOJ protocol, the RTA Portal will be rebranded as the "Claims Portal" and adapted to accommodate the new requirements.

The new version of the electronic portal will provide swift, electronic exchange of all relevant claim information and related documentation. While the portal is being upgraded and a new information website is in development, this RTA PI Claims Process website will hold all relevant information about the Claims Portal until the new website goes live.

Further details will follow for how to register to use the electronic portal for both new and existing users over the next few weeks.
